This website provides information about the Regional Child Protection Committee (RCPC) and the inter-agency work which is undertaken to safeguard children against neglect and abuse in the N Ireland.

The Health & Social Care Board has developed a Regional Child Protection Committee, which replaces the four legacy Area Child Protection Committees.

The key objective for the Regional CPC is to determine the strategy for safeguarding children and to develop and disseminate policies and procedures. Trust Child Protection Panels will facilitate practice at a local level will support the RCPC.

The Assistant Director for Child Care (HSCB) chairs the RCPC. The RCPC will hold a regional remit and attract service personnel from the relevant statutory and voluntary child protection agencies.
